Well actually was not much a fan of the guy, but I find my self respecting the guy. Perhaps it cause poeple in my life attack me like that, where I can relate. Or maybe not. As a libertarian, I didn't support the invasion of Iraq. However I was the only one who understood the reason for invasion was a matter of principle. As an Isolationist I would have not supported the billions of dollars he donated to Africa. I would not let jaded stars tell me what charities to put money in. (Lazy bums) Although I am all for states right, Something about the louisianna govener PO'd me. That guy was really an idealist. He got alot of crud for it too. What made me decide to like him was how he was able to stand straight while he was being criticized to the point, where he wasn't allowed to attensd the republican convention. He gave president Obama everything he needed to run the country at the cost of his own pride. Pretty amazing. You actually raise some good points, Juju. There were many things to dislike about him, to be sure, but there were admirable points as well. For one thing, he never put blame on anyone else. There were things Clinton left over that would not stand up to a lot of scrutiny, wheels that were put into place that would lead to the downfall of Fanni and Freddie, and secret dealing with the Chinese that we still don't know much about. Bush never mentioned Clinton nor criticized anything the previous administration had done. He stayed true to the credo that presidents do not trash previous presidents. Obviously, he was the exact opposite of Obama in that regard. He showed a certain amount of class in assuming the challenges without finger pointing. He did what he thought was right. Barely into his presidency, he made decisions that could put any reelection possibilities in jeopardy and he went ahead with them because he believed he was right and he considered the safety of the United States more important than any reelection plans. He did not care what the press thought and did not cater to them. Through all of the insults and bad-mouthing directed at him, he never retaliated returned insult with insult. He showed more class in his vocabulary-challenged way than Obama could ever hope to achieve. His decisions I can challenge. His devotion to the safety of the United States I cannot. |

LR Yah, durring campains he blamed other poeple, but name a polititian who doesn't durring a campain.(: I mearly admire him for his guts. I mean he literally is abandoned by his own party. That's disgusting how the republican party treats him. Juju -Juju |

Actually, it is pretty disgusting how BOTH political parties abandon their favorite sons whenever the mood strikes them, and whenever it is expedient to do so. I point to our current High Lord Pish Posh who was the "savior of the world, the golden child of the left, and the one person in the entire world who could bring the United States back into the good graces of a hating world". When people were going to vote against him, they were called racist and un-enlightened; when he was elected, there was dancing and crying in the streets; when he was given the Nobel Peace Prize for not doing a damned thing, he was praised as the Second Coming... and yet, he is being demonized by the left for Guantanamo not being closed, because the health care plan wasn't liberal enough (which I find... strange), because he hasn't completed the change over to European-style socialism yet, because we still have troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Actually, even though I did not vote for him (big surprise), and would very much enjoy the thought of him being a one term president, I am willing to give him the respect that the left is not because he got into office, realized that he didn't have all the facts, and is now litening to people on the ground in both combat theaters to decide what is right for this nation. Anyhow. it is not just the Republicans that tend to eat their young... the liberal Democrats are just as evil. And that is not good for the country...regardless of who is in power. Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting, "WHAT A RIDE |

Ringo, Yeah, Obama does put up with alot of grief. I don't agree with him politically, but I do respect him, because he is our president and I do believe that he thinks he has our best interests in his mind. However, I doubt it will make me vote for him. Another example is McCain. Here is a guy who is getting no help from fellow republicans on his re-election campaign.(except Palin, which is probably pretty awkward) Yet Mc Cain had my respect before the presidential elections. -Juju |
