They can have ours if they want and can get to them without destroying the external brick and stonework outside my bedroom window. They's in the outside wall below a bank of windows between the exterior rock and interior drywall. You can pinpoint them by running your hand below the sill and feeling for high warmth. Over half the backyard is pretty much off limits now due to those little buggers. |

Yawp. Did that, did sprays, did putties. Although I gotta say that the sound of, oh, about 200 bees stinging the window glass is rather interesting. Scittery almost. See, one stung me several months back and released the Alert chemical and the rest of em responded. So I hightail it back inside and am working in this room and hear 'tic tic tic'...very fast and repetitive and look up. One of those times I really wish I had a camera. |

Essential for sure. Without them we wouldn't have "The Birds and the Bees."  Now how bad would that be? |

Pete... Deer thanks for the info, although not very optimistic is it? Yesterday my girlfriend wrote me and said, this has been ongoing since the 80's. Although environmental issues are blamed a lot, and should be, mites are considered one of the most serious threats. They came here, I believe in the eighties It certainly is a concern in rural areas where farmers don't have monies for more sophisticated technology and are dependant on the honeybee as we are for fruit, almonds, and honey, not to mention pollination. Thanks to all for your help |

Sorry Lee. I didn't mean to belittle the problem with my flip response. It was just too good an opportunity to pass up. Of course, if not corrected soon, this will evolve into a major problem. Bees are an absolute necessity for any known form of agriculture. I do hope the solution will be found soon. |
