American Hiroshima Homeland Security 1. I am not going to debate the validity of the sites and whether they are politically biased. I cannot validate for fact any of the information on these sites. I am also not saying I 100% agree with these information on these sites by posting them as reference material. That said moving on to #2. 2. Even though I might not take for fact all of the information on these two sites I still find a very large taste of reality. I use these sites only to start a discussion point on the following questions. 3. Is a nuclear attack eminent? I absolutely believe so and I don't think there is an administration anywhere that will be prepared to protect us from it. I believe that we now are on the bottom side of the timeline in terms of readiness. By the time we could get ready I believe that the nuclear threat will be to far advanced. 4. What is the timeline? I have no idea and am far from any type of bomb expert. Maybe someone else has some input here about the feasibility of a suit case nuke being transported and maintained here in the US? 5. How do we or could we respond? I think these depends on the attack and how effective it is in destroying cities and people. Where did it hit and how many places? Where is the jet stream going to carry the aftermath? Do we retaliate in kind? 6. Is there a US economy after a nuclear threat or even a world economy? I think this holds merit for argument. I am sure there are plenty of people out there that would love to see us fall and are willing to pay a price for it. If there economy suffers it would be worth the price of admission so to speak. Whats the verdict? Am a way off in right field for believing that a nuclear threat is closer than we think? Joshua |

i work in this field. in certain parts of our national security/science intellect pool this threat has been long considered. the steps being taken are definite, logical, and likely to work. there are books written on this could check out, but if you are seriously interested you should look at what LLNL/NSA/PNNL/NIST and the pentagon documents (that are released). there is a wealth of information available but people (and "journalists") do not want to do the leg work. countermeasures and precautions have been in the works since early in the Clinton administration. using planes as projectiles was even considered but dismissed as too crazy. we will not make that mistake again. -majnu -------------------------------------- Timid thoughts be not afraid.
