LOL, I owe too, even though I earned well under 20K last year. Most of my income was from self-employment, so I get nailed for self-employment taxes.
I need one of those stimulus bailouts!
Nice to see you here, Sir Wranx.

Oh I bet I am the big winner on this one!

I owe them lots.

I am waiting until the last minute to file and I changed my W3..

I get tapped for over 10K in fed. taxes during the year...

I am paying them back...just a little at a time.  I remember back a decade or so, they owed me 10K and took 9 months to give it to me!  I am returning the favor.

I know...interst, you say.. and you would be right...but dang it, it's the principal.

.

What's odd is that there are so many
of these events with Obama, and it gets
softly treated.

smile...

and it's only under the Obama administration that tax discrepancies are being "outed". We're talking decades of abuse John.

Even I can follow the bouncing ball back through previous adminstrations, I find it admirable that finally, we're developing a taste for accounting.

I don't think anybody ever asked before...

I came back to edit, for a proposition. Take your financial history to at least three different reputable tax accountants. You give them the same information, and I'm willing to bet you'll get three different numbers.

I'm willing to bet that because I once did just that.

And yanno?

I think the I.R.S. might owe me money...

Heh. Turns out that we did owe the I.R.S...

I think it's just a few hundred dollars though, and yep, it was an honest mistake.

(And a word of advice--don't hire family or friends to "help" with your return--you won't have anybody to yell at, and H&R Block guarantees that if THEY make a mistake? They'll pay the fine.)
