Kim Jong-il is reputed to be personally worth over four billion dollars. His is the dictator of a North Korea whose government has been and is concerned with culturing, from the cradle, devotion to his person almost amounting to worship. They have, at his command, governed as an estimated three million or ten percent of the population, men, women, and children, have recently starved to death. There is a harem populated by selection by him, or in his behalf, of chosen girls from the school system for his benefit and those he chooses to favor. He has ordered kidnapping of foreign nationals. He has at his command one of the largest armies in the world, and he has nuclear weapons. What ,other than a direct murderous attack on the United States, its bases, or large numbers of Americans abroad, could Kim Jong-il do that would then have your support of a war to take him and his government out? My opinion, not a whole lot. If, for example, he decided to hijack a ship at sea full of American tourists for permanent keeping, then they are lost. If he kidnapped someone he found attractive from the streets of Hollywood, good luck on her career. But, as he has the bomb, he and his successors, (his father ran the country before), get to do pretty much whatever he and they want to do. And that is just the way it is. Kim Jong-il??? What we should be more concerned about is what the US commander-in-chief might do with his power and if the current US govt should be taken out of power. After all, the US govt has the most deadly weapons on the planet and the means to use them. Not only has The US govt used them, they have used them on some of the weakest countries in the world. Scary! Kim Jong-il (declared as part of the axis-of-evil) has no choice but to start building weapons as a deterrent. |
