The Holy Qur'an "The Night" "92.1": I swear by the night when it draws a veil, Psalms 18:11: He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies. Hide me in the darkness, veil me secret, Calm me in the blackness, keep me quiet, Find me a place were pools will not reflect, Sunless skies that invisibly protect. Settle in the darkness where light won’t touch. Seep the brightness from skin that grow more pale, Stop the air from stirring let it be stale, Musk the air from all fragrant floral scents Darken the skies to mask their good intents. Settle in the darkness where light won’t touch. Keep me forever in my secret place, Where I might keep a shroud over my face, Pools clouds and veils to keep the light at bay, To escape reality of the day. Gloom |

Wow this is a most terrific write Gloom. So powerful. I prefer the light, but I do understand the feelings here, I have been in darkness...I hate it. Strong words you express and very well. floria Floria |

A dark Poem (not a Sonnet as I simply forgot a Quatrain) Why I do I always feel my very best? In deepest darkness my soul is at rest No love; no company, where nothing's said No sprark, no life I love just being dead. For I'm afraid of light. It makes me think And see the sorrow. feel all pain, and stink So let me run, hide from reality As if I were never born, just no me. I do no harm when I escape to gloom And sit alone within my little tomb For what have I to offer God in light? Best, hide away and sleep in perfect night. Then when infinity I do not see I'll just be gone, there never was a me. Thank you, strbbux, Some like light, some like dark, I prefer the dark, I am pleased you liked my poetic expression. Thank you, Silver Streak, A powerful poetic response, But more towards the dead than mine, Let me state that I am not in favor of dead in the form of suicide, I’ve always thought it the cowards way out, But I am a dark personality, that prefers solitude, shuns light with sensitive eyes, Would rather quiet than any background noise like radio or TV. It doesn’t mean I won’t go into sunlight or meet people, Just preferences that I don’t. I do not regret life or my birth, nor do I worship Darkness I just hide behind it’s veil. Gloom |

I understand, Gloom. Darkness was made as a cooiing shade from hot burning sunshine. All beautiful color comes from a darkening influence, the bending of pure light, as we build rainbows of beauty. God made the darkness, too. ((Gloom)) -newell Sharing God's Love through perfectlovepoetry.com |
