"I will fight no more forever" the wise Indian Chief had said wails from a mourning village they are weeping for their dead. Smoke rises from the ashes in dawn of early morn a nation broken hearted their spirits being torn. Somewhere in the distance war drums fill the air wreaking havoc through their land hope now turning to despair. See the buffalo rising hear the white wolf cry listen to white mans thunder echoes in the evening sky. The spirits of yesterday walk listen closely to their tale the legends are not forgotten and their heritage will prevail. If you listen closely in the quiet of remember you can hear his words "I will fight no more...forever....." On the wings of words our spirits fly....and our souls are free. ~Me~ (I could have missed the pain, but I'd have had to miss the dance~Garth) [This message has been edited by Gentle Spirit (02-19-2002 02:26 PM).] |

This reminded me of that painting called "End of the Trail", have you ever seen it? This would go so well with that. Very well done! |

PDV, glad you stopped by and so pleased that you enjoyed this one. Sandra, I am glad you have left your words and yes....their heritage is strong. Thank you. Lauren, your words touch me deeply, and encourage me to keep trying when I often feel like the muse has flown away. Thanks dear heart.
