They’ll be no sweet Valentine, No candy, Nobody that will be mine, No gentle hand to caress, No lady To share any tenderness. I know they’ll be no one there, It’s the same, I grown used to lack of care, Coldness of being lonely, And it’s pain, I’ve given up on happy. No beats, my heart like a stone. Gloom |

For some of us, today is just another stone on the pile...but Professor...? Here's a heart for you... |

Gloom, whether it's a stone in your breast or a brick in your wall...your heart beats. Kethry Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |

Thank you, Sunshine, The opposite of Gloom, for your kind words, And yes this is just another Stone on the pile day for me. Thank you, Kethry, Some might say I’m heartless, so a stone heart is better than none, Or at least it sounds like it should be. It’s more of a bang than a beat, Stone on Bone. Thank you, Seymour Tabin, Most are stone temples, but the early alters, for sacrifice Were stones. Glad you enjoyed. Gloom |

I don't post replies ot other people's poems just because they may have replied to mine, I post a reply when if after I have read another poem...it moves me to reply. Your style, your subject matter, your delivery ~ was dead on. I enjoyed reading your misery. |

To write as you do... Your heart beats and brakes at what your eyes see and soul feels... that is not stone |

Thank you, Nan You certainly spin a nice heart, Sorry my heart isn’t up to the day, Glad you liked the bit of poetry of mine contrasting the day Thank you, Poet deVine, As you’ve said before, I’m the counterpoint to the cheerful ones, Pleased you enjoyed. Thank you, Opeth, All of those things, style, delivery and misery are part of me, And I never worry about lack of responses, that’s not why I write, But I am pleased you enjoyed. Thank you, Zinsser, My aged heart has stopped it’s breaking, being stone It just chips off a little becoming even smaller. Gloom |

But I know a cat that loves you, or your socks anyway! And, come on let's face it at our age, we are lucky it is "just another day" right? LOL, Happy Valentine's Day my friend. A good gloom stone it was though. The older I grow, the less important the comma becomes. |

That Cat has been hiding of late and on it’s best behavior, but it’s tail is healing nicely (even if his pride still suffers from the ill fated attack). Yes, always nice to see another day, And always nice to see a charming response from you (Betty Boop, I always thought she was a real cutie) Gloom |

PG... Heart Of Stone He said he had a “heart of stone” “Incapable of feeling” But I saw only a heart of gold Scarred and slowly healing “Incapable of love,” he said This wondrous caring soul I simply saw a broken life Struggling to be whole “How could she take this all from me” He says with teary eyes A love once freely given Now disabled by her lies I look at him and I can see My life not long ago Before I learned to take a risk And let my feelings show A heart of stone? Oh maybe so On this I’ll call his bluff His heart indeed it is a stone A diamond in the rough Happy Valentines day and smile dear soul |

Gloom, this was such a truthful poem from the heart. And I wish you love, perhaps it will just creep up on you and catch you by surprise. floria Floria |

Thank you, hoot_owl_rn, For the wonderful poetic response. Thank you, strbbux, I doubt it, I maintain a vigilance against sneak attacks, The best you might hope for is a weathering down with age. Glad you liked the poem. Thank you, Sunshine, Inspiration? It’s not my intention, I just write poetry. Gloom |

Gloom, When you moan to be alone Don't you make your own, cold stone? But I, think you are very sly We all know that you go slow Purposely, for gloom is free And misery attracts such good company. Wheeeeeee! ((Gloom)) -newell Sharing God's Love through perfectlovepoetry.com |

Gloom - Really dark write here. That is why I enjoyed it so much. What is scary is that I have one on my hard drive that I wrote last year that has a very similar concept. I titled it "Never Be". Dave |
