I've recently become enamored of the legends and magic of Ireland. I'd like to present a challenge, Give me your best Irish Poem! A verdant mist hangs in the air o'er carpets soft of emerald fields the scent of ocean touches all and magic is there if you yield. Here fairies dwell with leprechauns and second sight is common lore enchantment lives under each stone if you shall peer in through the door The sunlight sparkles on the sea a turquoise glow surrounds your soul Let now your heart open in full to loves' design which makes all whole. The moon illuminates a spell A sorcerer offers for you such magic here in Ireland awaiting all who come unto. |

YAY!!! Oh my gosh, I love Irish tales so so much, much of my family's blood is Irish and the rest is Cherokee Indian and I have always loved fables and folklore of these cultures! (kiss on cheek) We all love you so much, sweet friend, Erin Go Braugh! YAY!!! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sandra, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! catalinamoon, this one would surely make the "wee folk" want to dance a jig. Well done poetess!! Chris Life is not measured by breaths you take, but by moments that take your breath away. |

Well, being half Irish, I thought I might take you up on this challenge and find some time to write while I’m in Florida at the end of the week. Unfortunately, I have just discovered there are three outlet malls, and a British pub near my hotel, so I think that is where my time is going to go!!!…that is indeed time well wasted!! Have to say, I love your poem, it does bring visions of the emerald isle to mind. If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please? |

Now that is a vacation I can only dream of taking. It also reminds me of a series of books by Nora Roberts that I've recently read. Enchanting it is, or would be I'm sure. Neat poem Sandra~ |

Cat, what a great challenge and poem. However I know nothing about Ireland except it's green and wet, so I will leave the challenge to the experts. Keth Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |

Sandra darling girl I would say that this is one of your best but you’d say I always say that. And the only thing I know of Ireland is that Dublin is a fun place to be, they have this fountain of a semi-clad lady lying in water. The local nickname for it is The floozy in the Jacuzzi And that Ireland ‘tis wet a lot of the time, which accounts for why it’s green. One thing that always puzzles me is when we hear about an attack here in England or there in Ireland, it’s always claimed that the real IRA have done it, so are there somewhere a fake IRA? But other than that I don’t know a not a lot. Oh and the Guinness tastes far better there than anywhere else This is a fabulous poem darling girl absolutely fabulous, well done Absolutely first class writing Love and warm stuff As always Mushy To give light to them that sit in darkness..... to guide our feet into the way of peace Luke 2:79 |
