Me: "Lyra, sweet chipmunker friend, how many veggies did you eat today?"

Lyra: "I ate so many they made me sway."

Me: "So just what did you stuff in your little chipmunk cheeks?"

Lyra: "I ate enough veggies to make me squeak."

Me: "It's good to eat veggies, they'll make you strong."

Lyra: "Now advice like that sure can't be wrong."

Me: "I ordered you a Rainbow Palette Plate of reds, greens, and yellows of every hue, with a side of pasta or rice, and Armenian stew."

Lyra: "And did you order a bowl of grapes or fruit salad, too?"

Me: "Oh yes, sweet chipmunker, and this time I picked up the check, for you."

I hope you enjoyed your meal.
Thank you for visiting our fine establishment.

OK, Duncan, let's cook! LOL, I can make mean chiles rillenos and fried rice, and you can make the nachos and the Margaritas. Howz about a Cinco de Mayo festival here at Pips?
Anyone up for a veggie ten alarm chili? Viva la causa!

Kacy,
How timely...I was looking at some Alaska pictures and thinking of you, wondering. No meat in my diet. Not even fish or chicken. So I could enjoy this feast and the company! Cute...

Thanks for thinking of me. I've raised Sara on a lacto-ovo vegetarian diet. That means she eats dairy products and eggs, but no flesh or fish. She favors grilled cheese and french fries and doesn't like many veggies. LOL. But she gets a good balance most days, and likes baked potatoes and broccoli.
I'm almost making myself want a snack!

Kacy,
You do know that explanation was for those reading this thread. I was raised entirely lacto vegetarian from birth and raised my children the same. LOL I can't stand the thought of meat. Sounds like we have to trade receipes as I have generations of experience in my family with this diet. My Nancy Lee was raised the same.

Thanks so much for this sweet poem, Kacy...
My husband is a total vegetarian....he doesn't even eat dairy.
I am what I call a semi-vegetarian...I usually don't eat red meat and seldom eat chicken, but eat lots of seafood, pasta and veggies. I prefer my veggies uncooked just as all chipmunks do.
But lately, I have had to revise my diet for health reasons...and they want me to eat meat, so I have been having a bit more meat than usual.....but as soon as I get well...I'll be back to the way it was before.
This cute poem made me really hungry so I think I'll have some lunch.
Thanks again for writing this ~completely yummy vegetarian hugs~

Lyra hasn't even seen this one yet. Maybe she isn't hungry enough yet.
Hey, gang! Maybe we need a Pipsters Recipe Page? It would be fun to exchange recipes 'round the globe. And maybe we could have a Cook Off contest? LOL, I hardly ever follow any recipes, but ad lib as I go depending upon what's in the fridge and on the shelf.

Wow, look who snuck in while I was posting. Have whatever keeps you healthy, Lyra. LOL, is an occasional donut OK? I've been caught with one of those in my hands.

I think Maureen has a great idea here, Kacy...
Maybe we could have a recipe poem challenge
What do you think of that?

Ha Ha, Kacy.....it looks like we both got the same idea at the same time....
I think we should go for it....
Unfortunately, I am a bit under the weather right now because of the radiation treatments, but they should be over in 2 or 3 weeks.

Thanks Kacy........I really wish I would feel better tomorrow, but I know that I won't.
The radiation is cumulative and each time I have it, it gets worse.
I have noticed that on Sunday's it is a bit better because I haven't had radiation on Saturday...but once the week starts again, so does the radiation and the side effects get worse and worse as the week wears on.
But...I do have a good feeling about it, because I really feel like its working.
I didn't feel this way about the chemo and of course, it didn't work!
So, hopefully...in the end, it will be worth all the suffering!
