Thanks so much, Lauren.... I could never understand the rationale behind daylight savings time... Its okay in the fall when we gain an extra hour of sleep, but in the spring, when we lose it...it seems to take me a whole week to adjust. ~lots of daylight savings hugs~ copyright2002 Lyra Nesius |

Oh Lyra, this is so cute and I just went through the house and changed mine now..usually I wait until mid way through Sunday...that way I don't notice it so much. Hey! Did you see the forecast for later next week??!! ~Happy Hugs~ |

Thanks for your reply, Noah.... I'm glad you enjoyed the poem, but daylight savings time really doesn't give us any more daylight...it just moves the daylight from one end of the day to the other. Here, on the western side of Michigan, in the middle of the summer...it stays light until almost 11 PM....thats what I hate about daylight savings time.... It was so hard to get the kids to go to bed on time in the summer....... and then, in the winter...they would have to walk to the school bus in the dark. Maybe it works okay in Colorado, but where I live, it just throws everything out of whack... : ~timely hugs~ copyright2002 Lyra Nesius |

Thanks Nancy, We haven't done the clocks yet in our house, but we will do them before going to bed... but I actually changed the time on my car clock all by myself this year.....I actually figured out how! It looks warmer for next week...but with some rain....guess we can't complain about that! ~springtime hugs~ copyright2002 Lyra Nesius |

LOL at this one. This should be published on the front page of every newspaper except Larry C's. Arizona never joined this insane clock game. I love it! And I always forget to change car clocks or watches, I have a good excuse to be late or early at least twice a year. |

My computer changed its own time...hmmm, kinda scares me a bit. Glad my car's not that smart, it might not need me. |

Knock Knock Hoos-air? we R-2 we R-2, Who? We are too, who are without a clue and fail to go to DST either. something about the cows getting up too late or chickens not getting enough sleep or something. Dumb Clucks!~ Can you figure where I am from, by the clues? *s* |

Thank goodness the computers do it manually... I'll bet you've changed your batteries in your smoke alarms, too...correct? Thought so! |

My husband was asleep in the chair it was about four yesterday so I thought I would take a nap too He had been sleeping for a while I went upstairs and got into bed it was a dreary day and raining a little bit I woke up at about 7:00 p.m. and he was gone it was dark outside and I found a note it said it is now 6am I will return after golf I was a little confused since it was 7 p.m. I thought why is he playing golf in the dark? since he said he would be home at four p.m. I read the note three more times I thought maybe I wasn’t awake yet it dawned on me when he woke up he thought it was morning he went to the usual slot hall for an hour and asked the guy how come the coffee wasn’t on the guy looked confused he didn’t make coffee on Saturday night my husband left the slot hall about an hour later to head for the golf course thinking it would be light outside he walked out the door of the slot hall and it was dark it than dawned on him it was Saturday night Not Sunday morning I guess I faked him out since I was in bed covered up and asleep when he left I sat at the computer thinking he should be home any minute when he realizes what has happened sure enough I heard the garage door go up..and he walked in and told me how he had taken his shower and shaved and took his morning medicine I was laughing so hard by this time I had to run into the bathroom He was smart enough and alert enough to tell me in the note not to forget to set the clocks up an hour. haa thought you would get a kick out of that Lyra..loved your poem hugss |

Thanks Kacy, I think the people in Arizona are the smart ones. There are also parts of Indiana which don't observe daylight savings time...but the problem there is that part of the state does and part doesn't....also part of the state is in central time and part in eastern time...and they don't necessarily match up with either the dst observers or non-observers. I live pretty close to the Indiana border, and there are some people I know who live in Michigan and work in Indiana...and that gets to be a terrible mess. ~daylight hugs~ copyright2002 Lyra Nesius |

Ha Ha, Duncan....One of these days, they will invent a car with a computer in it to change the time automatically.... maybe it will even start itself and drive itself automatically.... then it would have to get it's own drivers license LOL ~computer hugs~ copyright2002 Lyra Nesius "poetry is life distilled" Gwendolyn Brooks [This message has been edited by Madame Chipmunk (04-07-2002 03:51 PM).] |

Thanks for the cute reply, Jeff.... You have to be a Hoosier...I know that part of Indiana doesn't change their time and the state also has 2 different time zones In Indiana, there are cows and chickens and also many dumb clucks am I right? ~hoosier hugs~ copyright2002 Lyra Nesius "poetry is life distilled" Gwendolyn Brooks [This message has been edited by Madame Chipmunk (04-07-2002 03:55 PM).] |

Thanks Victoria...Isn't it disorienting sometimes when we first wake up and think we are someplace else and it is some other time. I usally fall asleep in the car on the way home from radiation treatments (thank goodness David is driving and not me) and I always wake up, just as we are pulling off the highway at our exit...and I always ask him how we got home so fast! It feels like we just left Ann Arbor, and we are already home...... ~lots of disoriented hugs~ copyright2002 Lyra Nesius |

Well Lyra, I remembered to set my clocks up, but my supervisor didn't. So, she was late to work today. I only set my alarm clock and watch, though. So, I still have the rest of the clocks to do. Enjoyed this poem. Thank you for posting it. |

I think one of the best attributes of moving to Indiana is not having to change all those clocks anymore. *S* Loved this! |

Thanks for your reply, Dulcy. My husband, David is from Indiana...and I know that there are 2 different time zones and some of each of those time zones don't observe daylight savings time....so you must live in one those. I have some friends who live in Michigan, right at the Indiana border...and one of them works in Indiana, so they each have to set their watches to a different time zone...and its very confusing.... I wish they would just abolish DST. ~timely hugs~ copyright2002 Lyra Nesius |
