Tapestry of Moments

Life is full of moments
big and little integers of time
woven into an eternal tapestry

those flashingly voluptuous moments
never to be forgotten
that first realization that we are in love
the first cries of our newborn children

breathless moments, washed with the clean of tenderness
delicious with hope
lilting with melodies yet unsung
words, yet unspoken

but also

troubled moments
tinged with the dark hues of tragedy and sadness
moments holding the sickening truth
of impending doom
the bittersweetness of a loved one's final words
the last glimmer in his eye

moments of love, hate, terror, bitterness and fright
each of these moments is a stitch
marking a time
in the tapestry of our lives

(smiles) Yes, this is so very true and so very lovely, sweet friend, life is indeed full of candid photographs that truly belong to the napped quilt heart of ours and while sorrow and pain are definitely needle-pointed within, joy and happiness are the things we will always cherish in our hearts tapestry! (kiss on cheek) This is a true work of art, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lyra, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

~beaming with dee-Light~

i wonder if memory chimes could be heard any plainer
than the words in your poem.   If, assembled close-knit, they are
warming blankets to snuggle into when scared.  Or they fray when
stress pulls on them too tightly.  Still, they are a history book of
our experiences, taking the good with the not-so-good.

For me, i, think i will just accept them all
and go along for the ride.  *s*

Life is a delicate weave threading through our emotions, like a stitch in time pulled through the loom one by one.
Lyra~ you are a fine writer and bring such comfort to us all.  Lovely work as always.

Thanks so much for saying these beautiful words to me, Jeff

If, assembled close-knit, they are
warming blankets to snuggle into when scared.  Or they fray when
stress pulls on them too tightly.

This is exactly what I meant to say in the poem, but you said them so much more eloquently than I did.

Thanks so much, Lori...
it seems that Noah, Jeff and yourself have captured the meaning of this poem in words which are much more beautiful than the ones I used.

Life is a delicate weave threading through our emotions, like a stitch in time pulled through the loom one by one.

I love the way you expressed this...

Lyra

Usually we just see a stitch at a time, wisdom gives us the perspective to look at the beauty of it all.  You have done that.

This really struck a chord in me...but more reminds me of embrodery...each stitch builing on the one before, locked to each other and the fabric. Seems to me that to remove even one is to undo the entire design! Though sometimes you wish you could remove some, or skip that part of the pattern altogether. Very well said Lyra! hope all is well with you in your world, wishing you the best...always! (((((((hugs))))))))

Thanks Dulcy,  I guess that if we could make any of those moments un-happen, it might destroy that delicate tapestry....
and they say, everything happens for a reason, and that reason holds our tapestry of moments together.
