Rose Petal Heart
By Larry Chadwick

If my heart were a rose,
It could satisfy your need.
And it’s scented petals,
For you their aroma bleed.

And if my heart were a rose,
It would surely never die.
Occasionally it may wilt,
Or sometimes even cry.

But if my heart were a rose,
With love displayed so fine,
All doubts removed for sure,
By a long stem rose divine.

Hello Larry

This was simply beautiful.  Your words of love shined brilliantly and I could almost smell the beautiful fragrance of the rose.

Take care.....Sue

Lori,
LOL Roses aren't even my wife's interest in flowers. But no other flower would really do for this, huh? Thanks.

Sue,
I could get on high on that scent! LOL Thanks.

A single rose can speak volumes. Just the scent is worth a chapter or two sometimes. I liked your poem.

I'd rather have a bouquet of wildflowers...but, if not,
then one single rose is just perfect...
...like this poem.
Hugs.

Larry - the way you write your heart must be a soft rose petal...

Noah,
Hopefully...like a rose. Thanks.

Sy,
Nope...ain't gonna do it. Tempting but no censorship required here. Tougher than I thought though! Thanks.

SN,
Totally cool...I had no idea. Thanks a bunch. (or is that a dozen?)

Sandra,
Now I'm excited. This is way awesome. I can hardly wait. Yippee! And thanks, twice.

Nan,
You are so very correct and I so totally agree. Thanks.

Madame C,
I got the point! ouch (just kidding) Thanks.

RP,
See...I didn't mean to rip you off. Too focused on the metaphor to think. Sorry. But thanks.

Nancy Lee,
The truth is...the closest I come to being a flower is probably a blooming idiot! Thanks.

Bill,
Better a soft heart than a soft mind. Thank you sir. And may I say how glad I am you're back where you belong.
