Changing To The Key Of C Major

it was just a sad lullaby
you wished someone else would sing
not the kind of song
you thought your life would bring

by now you thought the tune
would sound so clear and so sweet
but all the keys you played in
crumbled into flats at your feet

as the music now starts over
a different key of a life’s song
the very things that made it weak
help to heal and make it strong

and the notes don’t have to imitate
any music you have ever heard before
for some songs that can make you cry
can also make your heart soar

and no matter how long it takes
you eventually do get over the pain
and the rhythm of a life returns
and that, is the song that remains

(smiles) This is sooooooo optimistic and lovely, sweet friend, I too always find my favorite songs always cheer me up when I am feeling down, for I love songs that reflect how I believe and feel and who I am and Shakira and Counting Crows especially make me feel happy! (kiss on cheek) This sings like music, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Helen, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

h,
Certainly, there are songs left to be sung.
I seem to be stuck in E-flat myself, but there are those who say that this is the key of the earth.  Common ground.
Nice write too, Lady . . .

helen - have been away for a while, just got back online and wanted to reply to this. I like the poem, the style, and still the way you write words...

and no matter how long it takes
you eventually do get over the pain
and the rhythm of a life returns
and that, is the song that remains

"if a lifetime is taken
and the pain does leave
life does return, but slowly
but the heart will sing..."
