Battle Weary

Limbo is not for the weary,
And the battle is not for the weak.
Determination is the story,
The strong-willed tells the meek

I will not fail at this,
Please hear me when I speak.
Your name is on my lips,
And you are all I seek,

Should the dreamer tell the dream,
"Awake me from my sleep"
You cannot tell the difference,
When you are in that deep

And looking for perfection,
In a world of flaws and holes,
Will rest heavy with your heart,
And trouble minds and souls.

Look not for the answer,
From the outside in,
Do not judge another’s sin;
Do not measure thick or thin.

But as I am looking at you,
I see the inside shining through,
And there is beauty in those beams.
I see them also in my dreams.

Your poem spoke to me and one I hope my dear friend will hear.  As I read this line by line, phrase by phrase I singled out each and every word but could not choose the one,
for they all rang with such truth, and hope if you will.

We are truly the keepers of our soul.

*Nancy nodding and smiling at Duncan's reply*

Sherry my friend...may I just say this is totally amazing?  Well I just did, and this is.  I am not even going to try to choose a favourite line or stanza as it would not do justice to the entire piece which as you can tell by my rambling has left me stammering.  A keeper for sure!  Hugs.
