At last I have found the password that has opened up a new page.
My hands rest on the keys of a paragraph yet to start,
beginning in the here and now instead of once upon a time.

If perhaps a chapter unfolds then I shall continue,
considering myself lucky.
But for now it is about the spring time of my life.

Once compared to a convenience market,
one I don't plan to corner or have the chance to visit often,
filled with luxuries that I don't dare to dream.

There's some cheap bargains here and there,
necessities I thought I had to have
are no longer important, nor worth the time looking back.

There are books filled with chapters
resembling mass mailed catalogues.
Discarded goods where everything is on sale,
a small price just for the asking.

When all I want is to write of you
and have you read me in the proper light
leafing through my pages with your fingertips.
Perhaps indulging me in your luxury
like a novel lover binds to the story line.

Wonderful write..from start to finish. Indeed the metaphor is fabulous. A book stands for so many things for me. You bound this beautifully.

(smiles) This is such a gorgeous novel poem, sweet friend, this reminded me of the Elvis Costello song "Everyday I Write The Book"! (kiss on cheek) I love this, sweet friend, this is a bestseller on my chart, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lori, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love this Lori, especially that last stanza:

When all I want is to write of you
and have you read me in the proper light
leafing through my pages with your fingertips.
Perhaps indulging me in your luxury
like a novel lover binds to the story line

Isn’t that what we all hope to find? Here in the spring time of our lives. I think we should always consider ourselves in the springtime of life. What a perfect time.

Lyra~     The word novel can mean several thing huh?
You're cute, and thank you.

Sandra~ Now if only the entire poem was like the ending, but it wouldn't work without all that needed to be said in between.
Hugs Sandra~

Martie~ Thank you for leaving your kind words.

Noah~ I've heard that song before and I think how everyday there's another thought to process.     Thanks Noah~

Regina~ A good book is hard to put down eh?
Thanks so much for reading me.

Larry~ Ok, and thanks, but how do they say, you can't judge a book by it's cover!!

Nancy~  Thanks Nancy, appreciate the read
and your nice comments.

Lauren~ I don't think any one of us want to be put down, or unfinished.  After all the ending is supposed to be the best part.

Tracey~ It is a nice time of year that holds so much promise.  I love hearing from you Tracey.  Thanks.

Dark Stranger~ My approach to what? The ending!!  Nice to see you here DS.

Floria~  Where have you been girl?
I've missed reading you too.
I shall patiently await your next post.
Thank you Floria~
