I see it done daily, I don't understand
an attitude I see thoughout this land.
Verbal abuse is just downright mean
and physical abuse is to often seen.
I don't get it, nor do I understand why,
I just know that it makes me cry.

How hard is it to offer a simple smile,
to make someones day a bit more worthwhile?
To turn away anger and not to cause pain
or not to hurt others for personal gain?
Is it to much to offer a hand to the weak,
when a shred of kindness is all that they seek?

Maybe it's me, or just my own mind
but I CAN NOT understand people being unkind.

Donna, I know exactly what you mean. I too wonder how some people just naturally appear mean and nasty, when it is so easy to be kind and thoughtful...and much more rewarding.

Times ARE hard for peoples' emotions...hang tough...we have a lot to let others get through...

If they realized how they looked i think they would change real fast. I guess they have a very unhappy life. Just be glad you know how to share a smile Donna..hugs
