Side doors open on the steps that go higher
servents bend as they answer to their sire;
keys to life jangle from their waistcoats pockets
mystery doors will open with a thrust in lockets.

I hold the keys to my destiny so dear
and walk serpent lined garden paths, I fear;
keep the keys that connect my past and present
hold the answers in my hands, some not pleasant.

The strain of winding staircases that twist
a brush and easel carried in jungle mists;
movie roles performed at each and every step
o'er staircases hovers images of gents I met.

My words run from pen marks, hands brace pens
know not what future holds, the railing bends;
with air brush on command, some portraits were painted
look away from the past, false prospects were tainted.

The rise and rung of marble steps permanently encased
decents of model fashions, whose cloaks they graced
we dally and admire staircase portraits along its windy path
up the steps to distant floors, will we escape devine wrath?

BRAVO!!! Wow, this is a wonderful metaphor, sweet friend, I hope that we can all have the hope to roll the red carpet upon the staircases of life and gladly walk up with perserverance and find our ways out of the basement of life below! (big hugggsssss) This is excelelnt, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Martin, thank you for sharing!
