Just Doing The Laundry
By: Noah Eaton
3/28/02

The laundromats are filled with onomatopoeia
Inspiration seems to come split by the minute, lickety-split
This can be a bubble bath or just another soap opera
Underneath these thoughts there are many thoughts to share I'm certain

Ooohhhhhh...a nickel or dime for all this time you've got to sigh
How great to know it's free of charge, and there ain't no contradictions
Between the lines I'll just be adding more lines
I'll just bide my time, put in some Tide and have my creative juices flowing

Splish-splash, I'm taking a bath, in your heart it's a fact
I dream so much I just wish I could go to the Caymans or see a doctor
Scrub it up, scrub it up, wishy-wash all these thoughts until they're hanging on the stall
Hang them up to dry, synopsize these puns,
wait till the synecdoches grow from their shrunken size

I never did a single thing but dream away evermore
It is miraculous what you can find, it's all just laundry service
So dream on, dream on, and overlook your signature metaphor
Watch the kaleidoscope thoughts spin on and on, you can't resist it

This is very interesting to read, Noah. Isn't it amazing how an ordinary thing like laundry can be inspirational?

I don't think I've EVER had this much fun at a washateria, M'toe. *G* You've made a simple task into an adventure... and it's delightful. *S*

Its so nice to see your less serious, playful side.

Noah darling boy this is so delightful, I love to see you play with words. And this is a frothy confection of soapy delight. Utterly utterly fabulous writing I love it.

Life = Doing The Laundry.  Someone told me to "get a life," once.  I've tried, and have decided that it's probably the one for me...it can involve anything, really...loved your poem.
