Trying it is very trying to think about what I would say to you When the mind goes 40 miles a minute and feet are in clay I would want each word to mean so much And yet the silence bears quite heavy The road falls under my feet a long strip the black beckoning The longest road yet unmet In pushing myself to talk my mind grows blank And I feel perhaps that it is because you have already overwhelmed my heart How easy it is to head west into the sun and let it glimmer the smile And in heading west wonder if a right or left turn could make all of the difference It is easy for me to imagine to put myself in your footsteps or at least in your shadow For I have walked those sandy dunes and have burnt under that bluest sky I have seen the palm trees sway in the blast of a hurricane and felt the arid under my skin when I have walked the desert beside you with nothing but the prickling cactus leaving life in an eye I have visited your peaks while you delved into my valleys and which of us sought sustenance more? |

only by searching do we find what it is we truly desire... I wish for you waterholes along the way and some shade to rest in once in a while... |
