Every Now And A-Grin

~*Marge Tindal*~

You break into my consciousness
with a recall of 'way back when'
I tickle myself with your memory
every now and a-grin~

Some little something you said or did
slaps my face with a smile
Stopping me dead in my tracks
taking me back for awhile~

I hope that somewhere you
are relishing a remember or two
Smiling through memories of a friend
every now and a-grin~

You always do this! I'm smiling just because I read your poem. What a lovely sentiment.

Shucks ... I think of the title as the front door to my poetic thoughts ... Gotta snazz 'em up so someone will want to come in~

Actually ... I talk out loud A LOT to myself ... and they just 'happen'~

Marge,

As I get older(did I say that)..I can't remember the punch lines to jokes I heard last week, the main thing I went to the store for, the name of the guy with the funny hat at the hardware store, but I can remember the things my mother and I use to get tickled at and the things that made my dad break out in a grin.  They have been gone for years.....I think it's the smiles and laughter I miss the most.
