Plunging to the bottom of the sea
skimming the coral reefs
avoiding the sharp edges
that once threatened me.
Holding my breath a little longer,
swimming through my underwater garden.
I've no words to describe
what can't be heard.
I've no needs to be met
when I feel I'm drowning,
I have no desire to be saved
from the peace in my mind
that stirs;
in the deepest part of my sea
and all that I hold sacred to me.
Where I've found my tranquility
my heaven on earth
swimming around me
through me
with me.
I've learned to change with the tides
and the constant currents that pull
forecasting undertows
that no longer frighten me.
For it is here on my ~sea~
where I live and let go,
and come up for air
Where I breathe~~~

(smiles) Wow, I love this, sweet friend, this is a wonderful metaphor for "going with the flow" and letting our hearts take course! (kiss on cheek) May you forever breathe with hope and joy, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

It is just that sometimes, learning to change with the tides....I keep this, I love the sea and all its mystery, vast darkness, and peace it can bring.... HUGGSSS

Noah~ The flow isn't so bad after all, considering my options, it's certainly
easier than fighting the battle.
Thanks

Duncan~ Hey, I'm happy you liked that, our needs are of our own making, likewise we are the only ones who can save us from ourselves.  Thank you Duncan~

Lauren~ The sea is a magical place indeed,
I love going there alone after a storm has passed, and yet there is not a nicer day that I would rather spend than in the summer sun watching the water glisten.
It truly mesmerizes me.
Thanks for reading Lauren~

I love this reflection on life Lori. Isn’t it amazing what we learn about ourselves, when we go through hard times, and come out the other end, still standing, and stronger than before. Stand tall and straight and proclaim to the world, I'm still here!!!

Tracey~ You read me right and exactly how my words were intended!  We gather strength through our times of trouble, it's the old sink or swim syndrome....and I'm still here, more determined than ever.
Thank you Tracey~

Dark Stranger~ Thank you for your thoughts on the subject, they are worth the time it took to write this, and I'll hold onto them when I'm about to go under again.

Severn~ I'm so glad you enjoyed, they are simple words but nonetheless they come from my heart, after all I guess that is what poetry is all about.  Thanks.

Dee~ Thank you Dee for being here.
I appreciate your warm comments in more
ways than I can express.  I guess because
my poetry doesn't come easy and it is nice to know that my words touch you in some small way.  Thank you again Dee.

Lyra~ Oh I'm a decent swimmer, but I'd say I'm better at treading water.
I hope your weekend was a restful one.
Love and hugs to you always Madame~

Titia~ Thank you ever so much for reading,
it is truly a pleasant surprise to see you here.  Thanks.

Martie~ What a sweet and poetic reply,
the place in heart where our peace lies, and by golly I think I've found it ...finally!!
Thank you Martie~

Hey Amy~
How do I thank you?  I've recently started working out of the house so maybe that has something to do with jump starting my creative mind.
I'm so glad you enjoy what I write and even more so for letting me know.  Hugs Amy~

Sandra~ I thank you for that.
Right when I think I have milked the metaphor for everything it's worth,
I am again inspired by the sea.
Hugs to you~

Regina~ You're cute, I'm going girl!
I am not about to drown beneath my sea,
it is there where my safe harbor lies.
Thank you Regina~
