Got a call,
Wasn’t good news.
Through all your wisdom,
I learned to stay away from booze.

You’re in the hospital,
Not doing so well.
I tried to fight back the tears,
But the tears began to swell.

I just want one last time,
To hear your jokes and laugh.
I’ll tell your grandkids your stories,
On your own behalf.

One last time to argue,
One last time to play cards.
All your old friends keep saying,
“Give him my warmest regards…”

You’ll be missed,

You may have had problems,
Or been very ill.

(sigh) I know how you feel, sweet friend, there have been relatives that have treated me like a fool over the years but now I always wish I could give them a second chance and see if they perhaps can forgive me! (big hugggssssss) I hope this happens for you, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!
