Again…Between the Lines
By Larry Chadwick

I know it happened once again,

I’m sorry
Although it seldom has.
I’m sorry
I hate it when that happens,
I’m sorry
And hope it soon will pass.

I don’t like it when I get that way,

I’m sorry
And I always have regrets.
I’m sorry
It’s far more seldom that I pout,
I’m sorry
And I’m learning so much yet.

You’d think that I would learn by now,

I’m sorry
And stop thinking just of me.
I’m sorry
Though progress has been slow,
I’m sorry
I am getting better and I hope that you can see.

While I know that this ain’t heaven,

I’m sorry
And that fantasies aren’t real.
I’m sorry
I can do far better,
I’m sorry
If your heart I try to steal.

So here’s to a fresh start,

I’m sorry
And a better point of view.
I’m sorry
I’ll stop thinking of my self,
I’m sorry
While thinking more of me and you.

This is a good poem. There's always something between the lines.

Susan,
Well...shucks. Thanks.

Lyra,
Whew...that's a relief. Thanks.

Chrissy,
There is always something between the lines and somtimes it is more obvious than others.

Karilea,
You mean one apology isn't enough? Oh...okay. Thanks.
