The Shores of Alone

Lover of the night am I,
yet night has little joyous mean
when arms reach out
to hold a vacant dream
and lips which long to kiss
remain firmly ensconced in lines
of aloneness and despair
created from his hurtful lies.

Lover of the night am I,
though tears escape my frozen lids
while aching heart so nearly broken
barely beats alive within
and impossible realities
abort all thoughts
of any moments peaceful rest
and love that still is not

Yet still the night is comforting,
a velvet cloak to hide behind
to soften bitter edge of day
as sunset dusk will shadows rise
to open doors of promised love
of which the mind will not let go
though signs of future hope
continue to say no.

Lover of the night am I
holding dreams that never die.

Yes, the night's darkness is comforting..and holding onto memories is not a bad thing...while we wait for the new..

Sandra,  beautifully sad but brilliantly
composed....there is hope...surely there is.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Sandra, this is so very sad, my heart goes out to you and your tears, for I know this feeling of emptiness so well but now that I am feeling love for the first time, I know there is hope always, and you will soon be swonning in the night with love close to your heart! (kiss on cheek) We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is gorgeous! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sandra, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Lover of the night am I
holding dreams that never die.

Ain’t it the truth, some just never die do they? A touching piece you’ve written Sandra.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?
