The old Scout rattled Squeaks protesting her age Drowning efforts to listen To anything but the words inside Then I found the river… Not that I knew it was what I sought But was drawn again Around and through where ever I was To find it rolling out on the bar squeaky springs and engine clacks brought to mind the hope She’d fire to life and carry me home Without surgery When I next turned the key The exhaust cracked in cooling contractions As I walked to where the sand met water Looking for the reflected ghosts Of other places and times Wondering if they were here too Wondering why… Perhaps it is a water Nymph That has captured my soul and draws me back To her cool caress of thigh on hot days As I sink into her Never quite whole until she again touches me I am doomed to wander in rattling old ways The paths leading from one current to another Each in it’s own bed a new mistress With the same face Each haunted by the ghosts of the others Too long here now I turned the key Starting another journey |

(smiles) Awwwwwwww, I too love the mtaphor in here, sweet friend, it's like your conscience is the nymph and this is all about an excursion, or a journey to find something supernatural to touch your heart forever! (big hugggsssssss) I love it, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ron, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton |
