It has been years
And last night I dreamed of you.

Not the you I knew then,
When we were young
Foolishly hiding away each chance
That was or was not there
To explore the reality of intimacy
In our own selfish ways
While we ran from the truths
That we were just young
Just wanting to be whole

No, not that you
But an older one
Wiser,
for all you did was hug me

Without the hesitant pause

And smiled

Perhaps it means
I have let that childhood love go
Knowing we have both grown older
Have lived separate lives

Yet…
I still remember the flush of your cheek
And short breathed sighs

The hug was enough
To let me know I still cared

I've come to this place, after passion and intensity...sometimes a hug, does speak well of who we have become. It's a little too early for me to really delve into this one, I will save it for later. There is much about it that touched me.

(sigh) This is sooooooo beautifully sensitive, sweet friend, I too always feel just hugging a close friend always comforts me so very much and makes me feel there is one close friend that will always be close to my heart! (big hugggsssssss) This is wonderful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ron, thank you for sharing!
