The day was bright Sunny and warm ‘Twas a slight breeze But the wind didn’t matter There was a beautiful pond Filled with ducks and some ice A covered bridge just like Dora A few scruffy animals That begged to be petted This day was quite ordinary In almost every way Except, looking back It was the beginning of my life My life with you Was there ever another Surely, there are signs that I lived before But was I truly alive? This warm winter day With sun ablaze We walked and we talked We felt totally at ease Could people see us falling in love? Did we even know? That day will forever be etched In my memories of you To be recalled when we are older When days might be grayer I can always open that memory To let the light shine through To brighten my heart To put a smile on my face That day Nothing too special to most But to me it was Just extraordinary Unbelievable Like you Nothing ever happens unless first a Dream - Rod |
