From the tree where I had grown my leaves rustling in quiet peace changing colors in the fall have turned to silent cries in the summer breeze. Resting now on a bed on the ground weeping like a willow after all this time. My branches broken from the chill of winter frozen by the icy storms. Where once I could bend I can no longer sway strained by the tension and excessive pain. Swept up in a gust flowing away from the main stream; I am but a ripple on the river bound towards the sea from whence I came...... |

LA, deserving you are, of all good things that could happen. Your lovely poem reminded me of my very favorite jazz song: Willow Weep for Me: WILLOW WEEP FOR ME (Ronell) Willow weep for me Willow weep for me Bend your branches green Along the stream that runs to sea Listen to my plea Listen willow and weep for me Gone my lover's dream Lovely summer's dream Gone and left me here To weep my tears into the stream Sad as I can be Hear me willow and weep for me Whisper to the wind And say that love has sinned Leave my heart a-breaking And making a moan Murmur to the night To hide the starry light So none will find me sighing And crying all alone Weepin' willow tree Weep in sympathy Bend your branches down Along the ground and cover me When the shadows fall Bend oh willow and weep for me |

Sounds like there’s a rebirth at the end there. After all, going back “from whence I came” seems like a good place to start over. Very touching piece Lori. I like this a lot. If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please? |

amusemi~ I like to think that I shall return to the sea and perhaps become a raft to hold on to. Thank you for reading. Noah~ Life's course is ever changing, I am just going with the flow and trying to do so gracefully. Thank you poet friend. floria~ I am but the leaves on the branch where I have grown. I like the idea of being pruned, and sprouting again someday. Thank you dear floria for being here. Jeff~ Well golly me, that was awful sweet of you. Those are some beautiful lyrics, makes me want to sing along. But I might get stuck on it and we don't want to do that. Thanks Jeff~ Marsha~ Well well well, I have arrived as a darling girl! Thank you so much for your sweet reply. Tracey~ I guess we do have to go back to square one in order to start over again. Your replies always bring a smile to my face. Thank you Tracey. Mr. Tabin~ It's always good to see your name here. Thankyouverymuch. Victoria~ I know I know, I go in spurts. Rolling right along until I come to a screeching halt, then I become dangerous. (only to myself of course) Hugs to you too. Dulci~ Thank you sweet poetess, we've come a long way haven't we? I hope you know I am deeply grateful for that. *Hugs* [This message has been edited by BluesSerenade (03-24-2002 05:53 PM).] |

Larry~ It's a go all right, back to my sea that calls to me. It is there where I find my true peace. Thank you. Lyra~ I've answered my own questions to the reasons why, and yes everything is fine. Just know I don't go a day without thinking of you. Many many hugs~ Magnus~ What a pleasant surprise to hear from you. I was reflecting on my efforts not to fall away, but goodness knows it is a weightless feeling to finally let go. Thanks for reading me. |

Lori, this reminds me of a song by an Aussie country singer, Beccy Cole. "Strong Enough To Bend" I loved what you had to say so into my library it goes. Dee I wish you every happiness and may you always have the best of the good things in life. a brand |

Lori~ I know how this feels, to have many branches, yet they dont sway....I have often thought of the Weeping Willow to be a soft, safe place, to sit and think....lovely images...beautifully painted... HUGSSS Lauren~ Greeneyes~ Step through the barrier of my mind, enter my soul, feel my desire, let my eyes guide you into the shadows of my heart [This message has been edited by Greeneyes (03-25-2002 10:23 PM).] |

Dee~ Hey there, thanks for keeping it, ummm I know if I research it I could figure how the library works, but would you mind telling me how that works? Thanks Dee, it's good to see you here. Lauren~ Yes I like looking up through the leaves and reflecting a bit on my life and times. One can only bend so far though and that in itself was my inspiration. Thanks for your thoughtful thoughts and hugs. |
