The day is warm,
but the wind flirts with you,
beconing people to stay outside.

It is the start of another school year.
I'm dressed in cockiness,
the uniform for all sophomores.

Familiar faces welcome me
as I walk towards my new homeroom.
In the hallway I pass her.

She is at her locker.
She looks so different,
I hardly recognize her.

She has on the pink upper classmen uniform.
A sign of her transition into
being a junior.

She is my best friend,
and she looks so grown up.
Reminding me we were all getting older.

And I just wanted to hug her, and stop time.

Stop her from making new friends,
Stop her from going down path b
when I choose path a,
Stop her from leaving for college,
which made the gap between us so huge
that our friendship almost fell into that canyon.

But she was the same old person that day.
Just a wolf in a pink uniform.
But that uniform pushed her away from me.

And things were never the same
after that first day of school
after seeing her in that uniform.

"So stop and love and dance and live and laugh until you cry" Edwin McCain

(big hugggsssssss) I understanhd how you feel, sweet friend, I have only a few close friends and I too always pray and hope that they never change and always be the loving people I first began to love them for, and when I hear of someone changing, I too feel sad deep down unless it is something to be proud of! (kiss on cheek) My heart goes out to you, sweet friend, know always you are loved by many, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Rebekah, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Very nicely done! And  I especially liked this:
"I'm dressed in cockiness,
the uniform for all sophomores"
It's always sad when friendship falls by the wayside when paths a and b diverge. Perhaps some day in the future, the formula will change and it will be a+b not a-b?
