Someday you will paint my words

Like an artist’s rendering
a lovely line
will then lead
to exquisite scene,
a winsome lass
on a canvassed
green

In your artist’s
rendering

A cubist, nay,
you are not
but rather you would
featherly wrought
a raging sea
of blackish-blue
under sky
of grayish hue

Keen-line in a ship
so fine
through port-hole
Madeira wine
can be seen
if you peer
from the pier
as you stand
a far distance from
shore

With paintbrush
in artist’s hand

And if you were to paint my words

Then attempt to
affix me lone
to canvas light
in day’s sun bright
would you rather
find moonshine shone,
after a glass
or two
or three
of wine on lips
of thee…

Speaking these very words
so soft, so fine……..

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Do paint me then
in recline
with blessed eyes
of green
a large great smile,
a patina’d sheen,
and if you could
in tangled wise
leave a remember
of bedroom eyes

Oh, I do so love you,
thus, you see
when you attempt
to look at me
when my words
rhyme with “thee”
and when you smile
in my eyes
in the morning light of three…

But if you someday attempt
to paint my words

Is there a color that goes with

Unheard?

What a colorful intense portrait it would be! So many hues and contrasting views of the lady, brushed lightly, with tenderness.

Aw yes sweet sunshine, the whole rainbow.
I really liked this, a twist of old world with the undertones of the mardi gras!

Your description of the painting could easily be the one on my web site of a tall ship on a moonlit sea.  Yes, I believe I could paint your words and I also know the hue of "unheard"

Fantastic writing!

Wow, this is amazing Karilea. Such beauty painted, then that zinger at the end. Really makes one stop and think, doesn’t it?

Now you see I thought that was really sad.  Sometimes I just plain read what it "feels" like to me, and that felt darn sad...but, I liked it

So many wonderful responses!

Midnitesun, your "colorful, intense portrait" tells me you really got into this poem...thank you very much!...

ThisDiamond, I had not looked at it in the MardiGras sense, but I am certainly glad you did!...

'Deer...I like crystal! In fact, I collect certain crystal objects...I am glad you drew that parallel...thank you!...

Noah, feast away! It is for readers like you that I enjoy writing so very much!...

Mirrorman, I am glad you enjoyed...thank you!...

Melybee...c'mon...you know Passions is the only place to put our work!  LOL...perhaps, someday....and thank you my dear, for your kind words!...

jwesley, you are too kind!...thank you for reading all the way to the bottom!...

Magnus, it was a tweak here and there...I'm getting better at tweaking...it doesn't hurt so much any more...thank you for reading!...

Chipmunk, perhaps only with words, but I do appreciate all styles of art...thank you my dear...

Auguste, I would like to see that ship...can you provide a link for all of us?...

Thank you Vandana...it's good to see you in here again!...

Tracey...aren't zingers fun?  thank you!...

Victoria...I know what a brush is, and I can tell the difference between oils and watercolors...the rest of my "artistic ability" is just simple appreciation that others have it!...

Mysteria, you are right...it is a sad piece, but only if one reads it all the way through, which you did...thank you my friend...

Ivy, your enthusiasm is showing!  Thank you!
