The Test The baptismal salts my soul Sailing o’er the sea of prevail On way to presumptuous goal While the sheets flail torn on impale. The sky is blue the sun shines through And a moment peace rules the day But dark clouds in the distance brew With the strike of lightening in play We cannot turn the coming gale The sea will lunge the ship will plunge And we will feel the sting of hail Yet we must bend just like a sponge. Each ship of sail, rides the sea Must pass through the raging tides We must withstand this misery To fix our place and still abide It is a test to stay alive It is a test to just survive. |
