Beacon of Hope
By Larry Chadwick

When hope is almost gone,
And you are out of despair.
It is that faint beacon of light,
That will lead you from here to there.

That lighthouse that’s on the shore,
You’ve seen it so often before.
Never a thought of your need for it,
And now it’s all you’re looking for.

And now here I sit all alone,
Reflecting about me and you.
Hoping the thoughts are bright enough,
That you might see them too.

You’ve seen it so often before,
Me sitting here on the shore.
Without much thought of it,
Could I have what you’re looking for?

A extremely well presented poem in both visual and poetic images.  I loved the reflective manner to it, and the truth that we do indeed hang onto a glimmer of light and hope.  And that is how it should be.  I liked this one a great deal Larry, and thanks for sharing it with us.

The pursuit of truth and beauty is a sphere of activity in which we are permitted to remain children all our lives.

Larry as always your rhymes are divine..but its the longing and sincerety in this gem of pen that reaches out. Well done poet sir...poem and presentation. cool pic

Of all the things in me I could never be,
of the true I kept hidden from view,
the best parts of my heart ...
were the ones touched by you.

We often ask ourselves if we are needed, let alone desired, for desire fades, and needs grow...I can see why this has touched so many, so quickly...

well done, Sir...when you let your heart show, I find that it becomes a...
