Dragons and wee elves.
Mirror images of ourselves?
Fierce in our smallness.

Eagles fly high.
They reach for the sky.
What do you and I
Reach for?

Good ole USA.
We are
forever
firefighters.
It seems we are
always trying to put out fires
‘round the globe while
in our own backyards
the flames are
out of control.

God loves laughter.
Let the children play.
Let them be children
For at least another day.
Remember when
The Challenger blew up?
School children knew
What to do
To survive that day.
The jokes flew better
Than the technology.
“Did you know all those astronauts
had blue eyes?”
“One blew this way, one blew that way”
I cringed in shock  and  horror.
Yes, it was a time to cry.
And it was time to say goodbye
To a special school teacher.
But she would have been
The first to say,
OK, the crying towels must get put away,
Let the children go out and play.
Let them be children
for another day,
and let them remember us
in their own special way.

Kacy,
While the children remember...may we never forget. Ramble on sweet one.

BRAVO!!! Oh Kacy, I couldn't agree with you more, sweet friend, we all have a right to grieve always over those we lose dear, but more importantly we also must always follow their word and strive for hope and happiness all the while! (kiss on cheek) This is absolutely touching, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kacy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

A wonderful message Midnitesun.
You've a way of getting down to the very
heart of the matter.
Love your style and poetic elegance.

Kacy,
Is this different than specific ramblings?

Gee, and here I thought that was what you were just doing.  I was gonna run out and join you but passed a clock and decided I'd better start dinner instead...the wife'll be home soon and since I didn't work today I'd better have my "stuff" together.

My loss.

Enjoyed the walk, my friend.

Thanks to each of you. The sun is out today, and I'm ready to play. Goodbye winter? Thank you for letting me share some rumbling brain rambles.

I like your ramble, Kacy...and I'll never forget the day that the Challenger blew up....its burned onto my brain forever.
I saw it on TV at the muffler shop while I was waiting for a new muffler for my car...I remember my disbelief....which was echoed all of these years later by the disbelief of that airplane crashing into the World Trade Center....
Oh what horrible memories our generation has...I'm glad we have some good ones too!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts

Lyra, there are certainly many tragic memories burned into our retinas, almost  daily. I was listening to a child psychologist a few days ago who was cautioning a distraught mother, telling her to turn off the TV and go outside, play ball with her child and listen to the birds...ie to let the child have his day of wonder and beauty. We grow old soon enough....too soon these days. That's the thought that inspired this post. Thanks for reading and commenting.
