           A Friend Of All Friends

It takes a true heart, to taste your tears
together we clasped and shared our fears
Secrets we thought we could never reveal
Together we prayed, and together we kneeled.

Never too busy, never too late
          Always sensitive; a perfect mate
          Matched cares; and matched woes
No spirited debate ever came to blows.

               A friend of all friends
               You are to me
               A friend for all time
               I will always be.

          We shall share raincoats
          to brave cruelest weather
as we grow older and wiser
                    not alone
                    but Together

(inspired by Charles Stanley - realized by my Best Friend)

Jeff darling boy this is an absolutely wonderful piece from you. I love it, the depth of feelings from the love of a best friend, they are a real blessing. The flow and the structure of this is excellent, as is the rhyme scheme. You really are a fine writer.

Beautifully written and wonderfully expressed, you have again written this with your customary skill and grace. Wonderful Jeff darling boy utterly wonderful

Morning Mushy!  (so cute...that!)
A couple of weeks ago I made a vow to work on some new innovative structuring
for the poems.    Love how poetry can be adapted to exentuate any mood
by simply altering the physical appearance and the syllabic rhythm.  I am so
pleased and a bit humbled that you noticed it.  Thank you for that,
and your eternal kindness.  Don't Change!

What a perfect tribute to true friendship. Particularly loved these lines

We shall share raincoats
to brave cruelest weather

What a great metaphor.

Jeff hi there, did you write this for me? No I know you didn’t but it’s magical all the same. What a wonderful and excellently written poem, needless to say mum is absolutely spot on when she says the construction and the internal rhythm of this is stunning in it’s excellence. Your friend must be thrilled, I know I would be, to be associated with such a fine man as you. I know you are a fine man, you are also one of the best writers I’ve ever read Of course you are my mum is never wrong about these things. Not just a handsome face

A beautiful tribute, Jeff.  It sounds as if this person is really a true friend.

It takes a true heart, to taste your tears
together we clasped and shared our fears
Secrets we thought we could never reveal
Together we prayed, and together we kneeled

This part reminds me of my relationship with my husband...who is also my very best friend.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful tribute with us.

Nancy:  this is an example of the classic ShadowRider two minute poem!
When it clicks, so do the keys...uh . . .that doesn't happen all the time, but
it's a great feeling when it does!  You have a great evening, and thank you!

Noah:  At one time, I was definitely lost (not too long ago- sigh)  But I have
a great group of friends that care and love and of course, its reciprocal!
Heck, if nothing else, they keep me out of trouble -  well  -.sorta  *grin*

Tracey:  You widdle debble you!  (can't believe you picked that icon!)
You have to give some credit tho:  this poem probably has the fewest
metaphors you will ever see me write!  hehehe
Thankx Trace! Jeff

Sunshine:  What a beautiful reply!  What an honor it would be if you shared it
with someone else.  That is what I hope we all do:  pass along to friends some
of the poems that should be shared that we see at Passions.   One thing for
sure:  there is a poem for every occasion here!  That was verrrrry kind of you!

NakedThoughts (aka Maur):  You and I have always had a soft heart for romance.
I guess it's in our jeans. . .errr…..in our GENES. . . .sorry!
Not sorry for the sweet reply!  Thank you, Maureen!

Vic:  ~for no special reason:    BIGGGGG HUGGGGG  just cause you are you~
Wish you could see my smile! Thank you!

Krissy:  notice how RED my face got?  hehehe
No pretty face here, M'Lady!  You should see me in the morning scaring the cat
into the next room when I wake up!    Awful nice of you to say that, tho.  You made
me blush with humility a couple of times this weekend.  And yes. . .I do feel I am blessed:  my best friends:  Jesus, Dulcy and Steve.  To have 3 makes my HappyCup overflow!  Thankx Krissy.  You are a sweetie!

PearlB4Swine: (love that name!)  How does that saying go:  to have a best friend in live at all, is the greatest of blessings and rare.  (something to that effect anywho!)
Muchos gracias!

Lydia (munkSter):  I am so thrilled to hear you say your husband is your best friend!  That, in itself, will probably bind your relationship to Eternity.  The rest is God's will!  You are lucky to have that support team, right there, Lydia.  I am sooooo happy for you, and that!

Dulcinea:  for you, my loving friend!   My spirit warms with the thought of always having you as my close HeartFriend.   You are one of a kind, sweet.   Goodness thru and thru. I only hope I will live up to your gentle expectations of a friend and more.
~special hug~  Jeff
