The day ends in a softer sunset
that is not quite so brilliant
as were my yesterday's
yet there comes a feeling
of tranquility in the shadows at dusk
as I collect my scattered thoughts
piecing them back together
so that I may rest in my tomorrow's
and forgive myself for loving you too much
in the only way I knew how....

Enchantress~ Oh it was magical!!
There were no more words needed than those you left for me.
Thank you dear heart!

Noah~ There is always a flicker that is left in the light of love,
how could we ever forget!!  Thank you~

Chanson~  I appreciate you seeing the beauty in my words as they were meant that way.  Like the sun sets, so does it rise again.
Thanks~

This made me feel the calmness and acceptance of it. Love those last two lines.

Lori
Insight. The best gift to moving on. I don't know about you, but I call that progress! And stated in words of wisdom. It doesn't get much better than when said by a wise poet (that would be YOU!).

I've got two choices I can either wise up or wipe out...and the latter doesn't sound too swift, needless to say it's not part of my plan.  And anyway, I want to be swift just like you!!!

Thank you for being here Larry~

A beautiful piece, Lori...It reminds me of one I wrote some time ago.  If I can find it, I'll try to post it soon.

this is one of the soft types of poems i can truly appreciate - for sentiment and delivery. yesterdays and tomorrows aren't what make up life, but they're what we often think of while today is happening.

Umm what's a cakewalk?  I know I've heard the word used before, it's just that I've never looked it up.  I like the idea of your harmonica but believe me, you don't want to hear me sing!  Thanks Mark~

Sunshine~ Sometimes our best isn't good enough but when you think about it, it's not our loss either.  I kind of like that thought.   Thank you for reading.

Lyra~ It's so good to see you here,
and I'm going to be looking for your poem.
Thank you dear heart~

Christopher~ You're right tomorrow is already gone and yesterday won't come again someday.  As much as we live for today don't we also live beyond it?
IMHO, I think our life consists of all three.  Thank you so much for your thoughtful reply.

Hi Dulci~ High impact huh, I like the sound of that.  Thank you for always leaving your kind words.  I hope you're well.

Dee~ Guess I am a softy at heart, and determined to make my own peace.     It's nice to hear from you again, thanks~

Gee BS (hmmm, on second thought maybe I'd better not use your initials, huh...doesn't quite have the "twang" I meant...)so...

GEE! Really have nothing to add to your words, or any words to touch you with that would be any more than what you've already said.  I think it was perfectly stated and stands all by itself - kinda like you stood up and said "Well, here I am, in all I am...your loss!"  Amen!

jimmy~ Oh gosh that was sure nice of you to say.  I said something to that extent to Sunshine, we don't lose a part of ourself for giving it our best shot.  Sure we might hurt but that doesn't change who we are.  Does that make sense?  Thank you dear Sir.

Sandra~ How right you are, how does one love only part of the way.  I guess there are some people who do, I'm just glad I'm not one of them.     Thanks so much for reading.
