Poor Tree
[inspired by Janet Marie]

perhaps the poet
has a tree
shedding thoughts
as well as leaves
rooting deep
untold wealth

the many limbs
reaching up
filling skies
exuding health
willing lives
to go on

reaching for
the sun at dawn
counting stars
a diadem
in its hair
perhaps the poet

has a tree
where invited
sits Janet Marie
Martie swings
from limb to limb
a Balladeer
shines his grin
Nan is there,
as is deVine
and Ron? He’s
shaping it
all the time
Walt comes too,
Enchantress
smiles, SEA
she waves at
Noah’s wiles,

then poets
flock to see
this tree
where shade
is cast by
Midnightsun
and Hope sees
Marge has just
begun to light
the fire for
Logan’s tale,
and Marsha kneels
as Sven casts veils
across the sky
in everweave

ah yes
poor tree
writes leaves…

~*~
I invite you all to continue
this bit of poor tree writing
by adding those poets who you
see sitting under the tree...

I see Kit sitting in the tree,
A robin in her lap
And old LongJohn is there because
We know all trees have sap.
Larry C is budding..
He is still a little sprout
And Christopher provides the bark
The tree can't do without!

Then sunshine comes along
To shine her light so bright
And Barry writes of love
That lingers in the night
And Suetang she is here
Just singing over all
And Newell, well
He is standing guard
Watching that none will fall.

But die with all their music in them"

Mysteria is frolicking,
Among the leaves at night,
And all the while Serenity,
And Auguste shine their light.

There's Acire, Dawn and sweet Denise,
All swaying in the breeze,
While Seymour, Liz and Suthern
Sit back quietly at ease.

Oh Nightshade's sitting on yon hill,
Of course with her umbrella...
No rain in sight..no not a drop,
She's hiding with her fella!

I see about a poet tree
The outstretched words of Miss Doreen
and 'neath the boughs, Mysteria
Holds Willow and Wisteria

From out his chambers roses grown
Romantic courtyards Tim has sown
And watching every butterfly
Our fantasizing sweet guy, Sy

High on a limb a hoot_owl sees
Liz Santos grand resplendencies
Denise basks in the bounds of leaves
And Masked Intruder's there to tease

There's Not a Poet to be found
Not anywhere but swinging round
The poet tree of Passions' fame
So come all, play this poets' game...

I brought a picnic lunch for all
to eat beneath the poetry tree
Some sandwiches and snacks ...
and of course .... Raspberry tea

I sent out invitations to all poets
all those missing ... old and new
I asked them to join us again ...
return to the pages of blue

Meet us in poetic Eden
underneath the inspiration tree
We will write in rhyme and verse
and set our moody muses free

thank you Lady *L*

Catalinamoon is sitting under tree’s soft shade
As duncan joins the picnic that the poets here have made
A picnic made of poetry found in the pages blue
Attested by the joys of friendships that are made so true

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

My sweet Gwenevere, my love Joanna, blossoms like a RosePetal
Where the Midnitesun scatters the aurora borealis
And the Irish Rose glistens with Enchantress
Weaving natures beauty with Saunni and Regina Wood that we all can't resist

YAY!!! Ooohhhhhhh...this is so much fun, sweet friend, I love this, we all love you so much! I can't wait to see what this becomes in the end! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Marshalzu hides behind a limb,
hoping he won't be seen.
But rubberband, as yet unknown,
knows he's there, and she knows his writing's keen.

I am a rabid horse.

Underneath the willow boughs,
rwood, is writing a sonnet.
Janet Marie is peeking over her
can't wait to comment on it.

In the distance I hear opera,
is that RSWells I hear sing?
Now his poetry is awesome but...
when he sings, he is the king!

WayOut Walt is up in the tree,
swinging from a vine.
Something tells me that he's
had way too much of the wine!

I thought I heard a wave inland,
well that just couldn't be,
Of course that's the explanation,
It was our sweetie, Sea.

Vicky's in the circle
telling the girls a joke,
must have been a dirty one,
I saw Nan give her a poke!

Baladeer has the girls crying
telling a sad tale of his old Dad,
The lines he uses to get the girls,
is really pretty sad!

Christoper has a pea-shooter,
he's up to no good once more,
then he hides behind a tree
you can hear his laughter roar.

Kamla brought her Koala bear,
so cute, cuddly and fat,
Oh watch out, there is Long John,
He may think it's a cat!

I think a poet is a bit like a tree,
with branches reaching out in verse.
They give mankind something to believe in,
hope, faith, and love, it could be worse?

and doreen Peri writes her lines
in the bright of Karilea's Sunshine
with pearls of wisdom from Larry C
and words of love from Karen and Barry
while Marsha with her words of pink
embodies British poetrythink

this is fun...thanks Lady in White

I spy Professor Gloom,
apron on and ready to bake.
His second love is to cook,
and he has promised us a cake!

Martie has set the picnic table,
with pretty flowers from her store,
She brightens up the darkest day,
Now could we ask for anything more?

Oh, there's Noah and Joanna,
holding hands, and stealing a kiss,
Was there ever a cuter picture,
than two under a poetic tree of bliss?

Soleil Noir, has made her entrance,
arm in arm with Seymor Tabin
goodness it is so quiet now
you could hear the drop of a pin!

Sweet breezes blow from yon hill
Down over the picket gates
Flowers bloom in springtime hues
In honor of Wilfred Yeats

WhtDove flutters around the glen
With spirit and bravado
Sneaking around behind the bush
Is that wily Desperado

Smiling from the strawberry patch
Held out by a sweet Temptress
Tossing the sweetened fruit
To a laughing Saxoness
