A Poet Loves a Poet

A poet loves a poet, for there is a common bond
A ring of words strung round the moon and stars, and far beyond
A thread that wraps around us all and forms a lyric wreath
A mutual ethereal twine of friendship underneath

A poet loves a poet for we’re speaking soul to soul
To pour the contents of life’s cup, the single common goal
Whatever in our lives has touched the tender inner parts
Is what is written into verses by our gentle hearts

A poet loves a poet and we recognize the best
The ones whose verses still endure through time’s most rigid test
But we also recognize the beauty from a word sincere
That flows from pen to paper from the wanderings of a tear

A poet loves a poet, for we have a common seed
That blooms within our gardens and our bestows a common need
It’s the beauty of the written word that opens to the sun
It’s the pleasure of velvet rose on paper when we’re done

A poet loves a poet, for our phrases are entwined
In the weave of written verses, though to one another blind
Yet we gather in a poet’s den, a place where we can share
The passion in our poetry with other spirits there

Our flowers of verse are blossoming in springtime’s earthly sod
A poet loves a poet, and all poets loved by God

Lady Santos,
I do believe this is one of your prettiest ones yet, and for this I believe I must give you a big teddy bear hug!

This poet loves "you" poetess!  I can't wait to see you - pretty close now.

The pursuit of truth and beauty is a sphere of activity in which we are permitted to remain children all our lives.
