Natural Light

For one exquisite moment,
light departed afternoon
and settled softly in your hair,
silken as the love you shared
with children gathered at your feet.
In that instant my life eased
as when the day decides to go;
though not just yet,
please, not without a warmth to touch
and blush your face and call it sunset.
I've still to thank the natural light
for bringing you so close to me
that ever after God may bless
my eyes but not my heart
with darkness.

Bob

A soft look from you would make a blush, I think, without the sunset.  This was lovely!

If natural light blesses your thoughts this way, may we always be the recipient of your thoughts...

this is truly beautiful, and very, very precious, and yes, sir, a Keeper...

Oh my!  This is breath-taking.  I had to remind myself to exhale, as I found myself holding my breath while reading.  Exquisite and most certainly headed for my library.
