Still Apart AMK 3/15/02 Lost in dreams of you I am caught in between the then and now Tears sting my eyes as they slowly fall You are my lifeline...but you are not here I can hear you calling my name Somewhere in the distance But I can not see you Here I stand waiting for you to come back The cold sheets serve to remind me That you are there and I am here I fight back the urge to scream My mind racing with thoughts at breaking speeds I want to smash something The anger and pain inside refusing to subside Your angelic face before me teasing me I shut my eyes wishing the pain to go away The phone rings and it's you Your voice that of an Angel on the other line I hang on with a strand of sanity Remembering what it felt like to have you in my arms Then I fight to get a grip Reminding myself that this is not permanent This is just but a milestone that we must cross In order to be together So why does it feel like forever As though time has stopped I look up at the clock Trying to will the minutues to increase their speed Each second that passes Puts us that much closer together And then cold reality hits again We are still apart "just because someone doesn't love you as you'd like them to, does not mean they don't love you with all their heart" [This message has been edited by Aimster (03-15-2002 04:03 PM).] |
