Before Plays

In the darkness, without you
I read the rules of living well;
the lessons learned, of displaced heart,
unspoken words that would not tell.

Just for tonight, I quest in black
and lace the stress, before the play.
I give myself to visions dressed
beholding all, when here I lay.

Though poet's heart, tomorrows dreams
are voiced within, no one to hear
the echoing, the remnants of
the shadows whispering the truth, I fear.

Your form surrounds and blocks my view
of sometimes this or maybe that.
Marked for now and pushed aside,
my tone escapes in sounds of flat.

Calmness, undisturbed am I,
no wind or storm can off my poise.
Before and after all the plays
I balance freedom in quiet noise.

M

Maureen darling girl Oh what can I say I can feel this. This is so well written the feelings simply flow all through it. As always your words are filled with a certain quality that is unique to you. The flow of this is absolutely perfect

Wonderful writing darling heart utterly wonderful
