I listen. - Inspired by Startime's poem, "The Song in your voice"

"I slept but my heart was awake. Listen! My lover is knocking: "Open to me, my sister, my darling, my dove, my flawless one. My head is drenched with dew, my hair with the dampness of the night."
NIV Song of Solomon 5:2

I listen. I hear her sweet melody
Music of angels, there in the sky
A beautiful trill in warm harmony
Like a songbird of joy singing high.

I listen. As she sings of past memories
Turned dark in the winter of now gone freeze
But daylight replaces all darkness as we
Enter new spring seeing buds on the trees.

I listen. My heart warms fondly as she
Sings her sweet beautiful songs of romance
I can't stay on the ground as her gravity
Is stronger than earth's. I know I we must dance.

And quickly so quickly I rise to her skies
Attracted to sunshine in clear blue air
My heart beats so sweetly as quickly I fly
Longing to be with this sweet angel there.

I listen. As God is singing through air
Calling me home through His sweet angel there.

I listen.

Thank you, Karen, for your very sweet, kind, loving words. It would be nice to think that I was all of those wonderful things you say about me, but I am just a crazed little wandering poet drunkenly staggerling along the road of life, in love with all of God's lovely beautiful creations. And when God created you, Karen, he made a woman really special, very precious and adoreable to write poetry to. Thank you for just being there. I love you, Karen.
