Serendipity By: Noah Eaton 3/14/02 It was a sunny October day All the children were out to play Toddling on the sidewalks with their chalk Playing jacks and hop-scotch I couldn't help but cry Feeling all my youth has died But now you are here with me I know I've found my destiny Am I a fool to think we're meant to be Am I a fool to think there's anyone for me? I may be a fool But I know what makes me happy... It's serendipity I have tripped to the soles of your shoes My sweet baby I have fallen in love with you... It never helped to count sheep to fall asleep Now when I think of you, it's such a treat All this dreaming of pillow talk and star-gazing Into each others dreams I wrap all your poems in a blue ribbon Pray in Church on Sundays Go roller-blading and dancing on Fridays and Saturdays If we can be joined together someday soon As lovers always do... Am I a fool to think we're meant to be Am I a fool to think there's anyone for me? I may be a fool But I know what makes me happy... It's serendipity I have tripped to the soles of your shoes My sweet baby I have fallen in love with you... Fireflies can't compare your light Your ebony eyes are darker than the night And I see all the stars shimmering And shooting stars sliding from the warm tears you cry Your heart beats like Beethoven's Ninth Symphony Your lips swing in flamenco, they are always dancing There's nothing like your love... you're in love alright..that's not foolish ...I hope you're getting something back on your time spent  the poem is much like a song..maybe the first stanza could be more decriptive..just a thought otherwise as a poem/melody it's sweet. |
