I am fascinated by all you are (all that I am not). You offer yourself up in slices of intelligence, with words that saw. Your sarcastic speech antagonizes everyone within shouting distance; they shield their children from your naked expressions. I don’t need to know you to sense loneliness; you repel love, swat it away like a swarm of biting midges. Morbidly, I am drawn in, a crowd to a jumper who coaxes up female sympathy amidst male ire. Thank you, Sven and Tiersdin! Actually wrote this about another poet that manages to upset everyone by his very prescence. He's obviously quite intelligent and a fantastic poet, but can't seem to help insulting everyone in his path. I kind of feel sorry for him, see past his b.s. to a sad little boy. thank you! Corinne |

I am fascinated by all you are (all that I am not). These first three lines had me thinking about someone I admire immensely... for I think we are sometimes drawn to people who can do what we can't. *S* Maybe that's why I love poetry so much... it nudges my brain cells into awareness. *S* But your poem took a turn away from my thoughts... and I greatly enjoyed the journey. *S* This is magnificent, Corinne... one of your best. |
