No simple melody played
For ears to enjoy without thought
But layered symphony of chords and dis
Blended over time’s pages
One note dropped here
And octave rose
Only to be lowered in bass reflection
Of the upper range we sang in youth

Voices crack
And wood loses its resonance
As age and misuse extract the depths

Still we can hear the past
Playing in repeat
No simple melodies
To think about

Ron...I love the sound of "...as age and misuse extract the depths..." and the last verse is super. Well done. Bob

I like the way you played this out...
From the title on, you worked the theme and metaphor to poetic perfection.
good to see you inspired again Capt.

You never knew what I loved in you,
I dont know what you loved in me ...
Maybe the picture of somebody you were hoping I might be.
