Eye-Dropped

ever hear with your eyes?
        or see with your touch?
or feel with your sense of smell?

they did all that, one to the other,
while I eye-dropped them
yes, the word should be “eavesdrop”

but they said not a word
              or I would have heard,
so I could only see all that was left unsaid
               quite by accident

for she only saw him
        he only saw her
she had turned a corner
        he held his post, standing,
watched her approach
under his gaze, her stride became

more

         purposeful

his stanch became

more

          virtuous

but his eyes
      gave her away
                and her eyes
                       gave him stay

the distance, abridged
       the electric, sparked
the greeting became a quantum theory

their light blinded only me
       as I eye-dropped
on what God had put together

       she raised her hand
touched his arm
                   then
all became right in their world

I would have eavesdropped
             to hear what transpires between
a perfect union

of touch

but I was already blinded
         by an absolute

         and I beheld green
knew envy’s twine,
          when envy left
I realized the sound of chime

so then, in this world, there does reside
a place where

hope breathes
                  and love encircles

someday, I would want a reason
for someone to eye-drop me.

I can see that you too have what it takes to invent and go with associations, well done!

Is nothing sacred? This is a breathtakingly stunning poem and I'm making fun..

Anyone would be able to see a good future by eye-dropping you, Lady....that better?

Lady darling girl this is outstanding writing, so utterly real, the flow is perfect, utterly divine. Your ache of envy in this is so clear, I can feel it throbbing through your words darling girl. And that phrase Eye dropped…… is soooo beautiful

Do I love this poem? You KNOW I do. Perfect writing darling girl utterly perfect

I dont know what you loved in me ...

You know I look at my son looking at his wife, and she at him, and no words pass, but there is a whole lot of conversation going on, and it pleases me that they can communicate with this much love in a look after 12 years.  Eyedropping is a wonderful way to put it Lady in White, and I shall show her this poem tonight and I bet she will lend it a smile, as did I.

Can I tack my "me, too" onto the ending? *S*
