Thy presence does blaspheme
this sacred place
Where holy vows once whispered
Under cool autumn skies

Memory now naked profane
By blood of heartache
Shed in the lustful hours
Wringing guilty hands.

Those pretty blues that once
Sent heart into joyous song
Now only disgust
Colors my countenance

Swearing if I only recount
The good times
Handmade mystic fairytale
Signed by Venus's hand
in rays of golden dawn
then love's fires rekindled

Memory now so marred
What was heaven
No so shallow still
Praying to gods great and small
Blot your image from my soul

For now I just stand here
Under cool Autumn skies
Wanting only to hate you
Finding only love
Falling to my knees
I cry.

'Falling to my knees
I cry'
Beautiful poem about the end but not the death of love. Well done. It leaves my heart aching.

Brad - This one makes my heart ache. I can feel the pain in your words. Chris

How sad, yet beautifully written. The anguish comes through loud and clear.
Warm hugs on the way.

Brad...Powerful images in this poem. The pain, the turmoil clearly portrayed. Very succinct writing.  I hope your heart heals soon.    ***Ivy Rose

Your last stanza summed the subject matter up quite strongly ~ excellent free verse.

Its certainly wonderful to see you around again, Brad. I can feel the frustration all through this and definetely to the end.
Welcome back.
