Limericks Created by Shenachie

Prairie Inkwells

There are some wells in the prairie
Filled with ink by a generous faerie.
It’s primed to write,
To bring truth to light,
For the sad who would be made merry.

Sunshine

There is a great poet in Kansas,
Writing poems sans thought to stanzas.
She says what she thinks.
Then, everyone drinks
To her words simply dripping molasses.

Passions in Poetry

There is a Poetry Site for all writers
Whose writing can stretch to all-nighters.
Now it’s time to rest,
You can write your best.
When your eyelids are feeling all lighter.

Shenachie

There is a storyteller in town,
Who will not be reduced to a clown.
When the shenachie speaks,
The story simply leaks
From her pen to your ears with sound.

Luck of the Irish

There is the luck of the Irish
That turns failure into success.
It isn’t over
Until it’s over.
True Irish accept nothing less.

Glad I’m Irish

Happily, there’s them who are Irish,
And sad, them, who only could wish
For the faerie gift
And the spirit lift,
Of the Irish, all-charming and impish.

Mad Max

A new writer is coming of age
As his writing fills up the page.
He writes and recites,
Listens and rewrites.
Until his draft is final and sage.

I tried a limerick in workshop a few months ago, was marginal at best.  These are great!  Very glad that Sunshine led you and your poetry here to PIP.

These have the lilting
sound of someone who is
finding her niche in
Passions!  Enjoyed!

Very well done!

The pursuit of truth and beauty is a sphere of activity in which we are permitted to remain children all our lives.
