Mist

Memories so hazy
Drift through my mind
Things that you did
Things that I can’t forgive
I try to remember
But all I can see
Is a veil of mist
Clinging beads of shadows
That change and move
Dark and deceitful

I wander through silently
Frightened and so alone
Knowing only I can exist here
With the haunting memories
Images that replay unfinished
Like a broken movie reel

I'm not sure if this should have been in Dark or not.  If it should be, let me know and I will move it....

Tara - You can really feel the fright and the feeling of betrayal in this write.  Well done.

By the way, first stanza has a typo, s/b can in the 6th line.

Dave - Thank you for letting me know about the typo, I re-read it 3 times before I posted.  I still missed it!  And thank you for stopping in.

Noah - Thank you my friend

Balladeer - The mist can help, in the beginning.  Eventually it becomes blinding and suffocating. Thank you for reading.
And you're welcome, I love reading your work

sometimes the mist can help
sometimes the mist hides truth
sometimes the truth blazes,
trying to burn its way free
crawling up from haze
crawling up from dark
sometimes truth is more important
than sparing our feelings.

i love you, honey.
and i am always here to help you carry those memories, and maybe lay some of them to rest.

Aw, Tara... so great! You're so great! I love it!

I want to die peacefully, in my sleep, like my grandfather, not screaming, terrified, like his passengers.

Tara-

your writing is superb! i really loved
the depth of emotion you put into this...
i could FEEL your words on the page like
leap out on me, really getting my attention.
just a wonderful write!

take care
amy

p.s. i noticed that your boyfriend Dave lives in Texas...and just wanted to let you
know my partner too lives in Texas and I in North Carolina...Isn't the long distance
hard? Write me sometime if you like.
