She danced a slow waltz with him
in his arms of not meant to be
she melted like M&M's
in warmth of his hands
tasting the flavor of ecstasy

They thought love was a candy bar
unwrapping faithfully
salivating for a while
upon moistened lips
savoring morsels
of melting destiny

He made her feel
like a Godiva chocolate
juicy raspberry sensations
lost upon a shelf
behind the double bubble
on sale for a dime a dozen

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Victoria, this is sooooooo beautifully bittersweet, dearest friend, it too always saddens me to see so many lovelorn souls who love someone so much while the other makes their hopes turn sour in return! (kiss on cheek) This is sad but very beautiful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have sucha  beautiful heart, sweet Victoria, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

I really enjoyed reading this poem although I didn't expect the ending to be honest. It is a wonderful if not a little sad read and thank you for sharing it with us.

Victoria, well now, this is a sweet, little offering to contemplate while I munch on my M&M Speckled mini Eggs. Chris

Excellent use of theme, images and metaphors. Well expressed!

Take care,

no! No! NO! Godiva chocolates are never a dime a dozen. They are the best! Like you!

Victoria - Really liked your use of metaphors in this.  It is a shame when love is one sided and it leads to that person getting hurt.  Very good.  By the way, you know you incorporate food into your writes very well.  Your like a chef poet.lol
